Adolfo Carli

Mr. Adolfo Carli founded the shoe factory ADOLFO CARLI Shoes in 1937 in Monsummano Terme, Tuscany, Italy.

Originally, the factory was a workshop which produced shoes for local people. In the sixties the small shop became a real factory, increasing from 5 to 10 workers and starting to make shoes for important English brands, such as the brand “Tricker’s” which is certified with British Royal Warrant.

The factory activity and know-how regarding shoes production progressed significantly during the next years to reach excellence of Italian workmanship. Hence, the SACCHETTO BOLOGNA Construction, one of the most difficult techniques in shoe production, which can be bended by any angles and make the feet very comfortable, became its specialty.

When Mr. Remo Paolo Papini joined the company in the late 70’s, he immediately started to move the company towards more independency and worldwide markets to face economic changes. In 1979, ADOLFO CARLI Shoes was one of the first Italian shoe factory exporting to the far-east: Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore.., becoming a leading company in those countries.

Nowadays, ADOLFO CARLI Shoes produces for important fashion brands and exports its private label all over the world with main markets in Asia, North Europe (especially France, Germany and Sweden), Canada, Australia and America. While historical brand ADOLFO CARLI remains the brand for casual, classic and business shoes, the new brand BOBO was created a few years ago to focus on fresh and young lines of sneakers.
